About the treatment
What is Dermal Fillers?
Faces lose volume before they lose anything else. Cheeks flatten, the area under the eyes hollows, and folds that were once only visible when you smiled start to sit there at rest. Dermal fillers use hyaluronic acid, a substance the skin already produces, placed at a chosen depth to replace what has gone.
The skill is in restraint. The aim at Niume is a face that looks like yours on a good day, not one that announces it has been treated, so we assess the whole face rather than the single feature you came in worried about. Where filler is not the right answer, we will say so.
Key benefits
What it can help with
Restores lost volume
Replaces support in areas such as the cheeks and temples, where volume tends to go first.
Softens set-in folds
Aims to soften lines that remain visible when your face is at rest.
Refines contour
Can be used to define the jaw, chin or lip border where that suits your face.
Results you see the same day
Unlike regenerative treatments, the change is visible immediately, then settles over a fortnight.
Adjustable
Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved if needed, which is part of why they are the material we use.
Assessed as a whole face
We look at balance and proportion rather than treating one feature in isolation.
What to expect
The process
Consultation
We assess your face at rest and in movement, take a medical history and agree what is realistic.
Planning
We mark the areas to be treated and explain where the product will go and why.
Comfort
A topical numbing cream is applied, and most fillers also contain a local anaesthetic.
Placement
The filler is placed using a fine needle or a cannula, depending on the area being treated.
Aftercare
Avoid heavy exercise, heat and alcohol for 24 hours. Some swelling or bruising is normal and settles within a few days.
